Daily commentary-每日见闻-2022.7.29 As IMF lowered its forecast for world economy growth in 2022 and 2023 by 0.4% and 0.7% to 3.2% and 2.9% for 2022 and 2023. IMF's cut was mainly due to worry about three major economies' growth, namely US, China, Europe, US economy is hitting by high inflation and Fed try to kill the inflation by increase interest rate. China is fighting covid and obeying strict lockdown and covid-zero policy, this crippled economic activities.Europe is losing steam due to lack of energy to drive the economy.These are the overall economy situation globally. If economy is going to weaken, how would stock market perform? The answer is the stock market would be weaken. US:Politics:Biden is position to get more he promoted act passed during his term to win mid term election.Economy:US economy keep growing by 1.6%, which is relatively high speed.

The best way to getting votes is to complete what he committed and win glory for its citizens. US citizens want to live a better life.Economics:Since Fed signals that it may slow down its rate hiking, stock market and debt market are cheering this potential change. Market priced in about 3% rate hike already. If Fed hike rate more than this, market may further correct. Culture:People are care more about how to make money and how to enjoy life. Also people are more divided.Technology:US passed a bill to boost the chip industry.Health:US is working on a deal to cut medicine cost for care plan.Education:US is delay the payment for students loans.China:Politics:Chinese Political Bureau is asking for stable political and economical environment for 2H 2022 with more focus on people's living. Government is pledged to protect people's right on house, daily living, working, and enjoying life. What is matter to people's daily life? Eat, wearing, house, necessaries, cars/bike. These are the basic need of people. People need to work to get salary to have a beter life. So government need to help people get employed first.Economy:Chinese economy contracted by about 2.6% in Q2 2022 qoq. So society production is reduced and people's income also reduced. Government need to put more money to the society to make it work to generate more products and services. This would generate more work and income for citizens. High inflation will cause poverty and starving. This will cause fight, riot and unstable of country. So government need to prevent high inflation at all costs. When inflation exceed 6%, people will feel it easily and people will suffer from it. EU economy is still growing, but at slower pace. Middle East is having a good year given high oil prices. Africa is suffering from high food and other goods prices.Global: Politics: World is more divided by NATO, Russia-China and other group. Each group is seeking their own interests and conflicts happen between them. So we are having a more fragmented world.Economy: IMF lowered its forecast on global economy for 2022 and 2023. IMF lowered its economy forecast for global by about 0.4% and 0.7% for 2022 and 2023.

Since China is abig competitor for US and UK. So US and UK need to cut deals from China to weaken Chinese capability.US:Politics: President Biden is trying to win support by easing high inflation and back to top of the world power. So overall, we expect US would be more aggressive on potential competitors, China and Russia.Economy: US economy is strong on back of robust consumer spending. It isexpected that US economy will keep strong in 2022 with growth at 3.5%.Culture: US citizens are ok with their lifes now. But they don't think Biden is a capable leader to lead US to win next century. US citizens want a younger president to lead them. It shows that Biden doesn't have too much connections with people.Technology: US is trying to reboost its global lead on tech. So house and congress are working closely to pass chip stimuls bill to inject more money to chip industry. Health: US citizen's health are affected by Covid and I expect life span of US citizen will shorten in 2021.Education: US continue to strengthen its basic and high level education to maintain its leading on technology.China:Politics: More peaceful politics in China. But relationship with US is tight.Economy: China Q2 economy is 0.4% or almost flat yoy or about -2.6% decrease from last quarter due to strict Covid lockdown in Q2 2022. Given big GDP loss in Q2, it is hard for China to complete its targeted 5.5% growth in 2022. China government need to boost consumer spending and government investment to stimulus economy. There is limited tools Chinese government could use to boost stimulus now.Culture: Chinese citizens are focusing now on how to have a better life and try to enjoy life. They still look forward to bright future in next 5-10 yrs.Technology: China invested heavily on needed chips, digital platform, new energy and expect these could drive economy growth for next 5-10 years.Health: Chinese citizen's health are affected by covid. Covid may reduce people's life span.Education: China is focusing on improve basic education national wide.Europe:Politics:People are unsatisfied with increasing living costs and lack of live necessaries. People's anger against government are increasing.
